Fabrication and Build is where our large projects take shape. From raw material, we bend, shape, form, weld, fabricate, assemble and inspect large-scale tooling and fixtures. Fabrication for the aerospace, defense, space, and automotive industries demands the utmost space, skill, and equipment, all of which we have at our state-of-the-art facilities in Macomb, Michigan.

Baker Industries has a 55,000 sq. ft. facility dedicated to our fabrication operations. This plant has a bay height of 28’ and a max hook height of 22’6” allowing massive structures to be fabricated in a climate controlled environment. Throughout Plant 2 we have start to finish tool processing that includes high quality GMAW (gas metal arc welding) and GTAW (gas tungsten arc welding). All projects are examined by one of our Certified Welding Inspectors before heading to our assembly and build department.

- Containers
- Work platforms
- Ladders
- Scaffolding

I’ve audited shops all across the U.S., and I would consider Baker to be one of the top 4 shops in the country. It is very rare for a company to pass our fabrication audit on the first try, so I was highly impressed when Baker not only passed but exceeded our expectations. Their team is well organized and their fab job traveler is one of the best I’ve seen.”

Aerospace OEM Customer

In my 27 plus years of being associated with Tooling Work Transfer, this tool is one of the nicest Core Form and Trim tools we have ever received from a supplier. The face sheet forming, welding, machining, benching, and ID look great. You also delivered the tool ahead of schedule.

Saving TIME is Your Biggest Advantage

Gain efficiency in your operations by letting Lincoln Electric Additive Solutions manufacture your long lead time parts.

    Case Study Example

By additively manufacturing the facesheets for large aerospace composite mold tools, delivery times for completed tools can be shortened by up to several weeks – potentially reducing delivery times of entire tools by as much as 60 percent.

Lincoln Electric Additive Solutions facilities are capable of providing complete, finished tools, including:

    tooling

New tooling is often a bottleneck in getting new manufacturing operations up and running on time, particularly as engineers often need to accommodate last minute design changes. Additive manufacturing can eliminate the tooling bottleneck by significantly shortening the delivery lead time.

    prototyping

Get functional, large-scale prototype parts in days to weeks, not weeks to months.

    replacement parts

Large castings and forgings can easily take several months to receive. Explore whether Lincoln Electric Additive Solutions can shave your lead times by several weeks.
